Update Jan 2014:
Okay, I know it’s a little late, but here’s the promised recipe:

aniseed tongues (Anis-Zungen)

Ingredients:

200 g butter

200 g sugar (powdered)

200 g flour

1-2 teaspoon(s) aniseed, ground  (Anis, gemahlen)

a pinch of salt

Preparation:

Preheat oven to 175 ° C. Beat the egg whites until stiff. In another bowl, whisk together butter and powdered sugar until well combined. Add aniseed, flour and salt. Carefully fold in egg whites until just combined.

Use an icing bag to create delicate tongues on the baking sheet, leave some space in between – cookies will become larger in the oven. Baking time: 9-11 minutes, depending on your oven.

Enjoy!

If you have trouble understanding part of the recipe, just get in touch with me, I’ll be glad to help you!
